|
Electrical and telecommunication cables present a lot of fire hazard. All industries, Steel Plants, Power Stations and high rise buildings use PVC insulated/sheathed electric ables. In case of fire, the PVC material apart from producing large amounts of toxic gases, fumes and dense smoke, also propagates the fire at a very rapid pace. The problem is particularly aggravated when cables are bunched together.

The Excessive heat generated may cause the structures to collapse. There is the inevitable time lag between the outbreak of fire and arrival of fire fighting equipments. Ultimately when the fire fighting personnel reach the scene of fire, they are unable to fight fire in out of reach and inaccessible areas.

inability to shut down the plant. |

MAXFAITH "RETARDKOTE" CABLE COATING
MAXFAITH "RETARDKOTE" is a fire resisting cable coating compound for preventing spread of flame on cables. The "RETARDKOTE" when applied on the cable forms a flame-retardant layer which shields the cable from oxygen, provides insulation resistance, prevents propagation of fire and greatly reduces smoke and toxic flames.

How to Apply
- Remove dust, dirt and oil from the surface of the cable.
- Stir the "RETARDKOTE" thoroughly and apply by brushing or spraying.
- The coating should be applied repeatedly at an interval of two to four hours to form two or three overcoats for an overall coating thickness of about 1.5 mm.
- The coating dries completely in about 48 hours.
